Our participation in Future-Ready: On-Demand Solutions with AI, Data, and Robotics

The event, organised by ADRA (The AI Data Robotics Association) and AI on Demand, took place on 18–19 February in Brussels, Belgium. It served as a key platform for presenting results, discussing current challenges, and fostering synergies among projects in the fields of artificial intelligence, data, and robotics.

As part of the event, dAIEDGE hosted a workshop titled: "AI at the Edge – Closing the Resourcing Gap | Birds of a Feather".

This workshop provided a unique opportunity to discuss AI collaboration and explore new ways to optimise resource-sharing in decentralised networks. The session featured contributions from Jean-Marc Bonnefous, Mohamed Selim (dAIEDGE Coordinator), and Nuria Pazos (Professor of Embedded Computing Systems at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Western Switzerland (HES-SO) in HE-Arc).

During the session, participants addressed key challenges in implementing AI in decentralised environments, as well as essential strategies for ensuring efficient resource management and greater interoperability across different networks.

Beyond the workshop, dAIEDGE played a crucial role in the event’s plenary session. We took part in a panel discussion chaired by Cecile Huet (EU), Barry O’Sullivan (AIoD), and Philip Piatkevitz (ADRA), where we presented the recommendations emerging from our workshop. These recommendations focused on:

  • Closing the resourcing gap for AI in Europe
  • Ensuring effective coordination between Networks of Excellence in Europe
