dAIEDGE project was represented by SINTEF and CEA at the Open Source AI Strategy Forum on 5 May 2025, collocated with the GOSIM - Global Open-Source Innovation Meetup AI Paris 2025 Conference, 6-7 May 2025, at Station F in Paris, France.
Ovidiu Vermesan, SINTEF, presented and participated in the panel organised by the “Open-Source AI and Research” Session together with Pierre Gaillard from CEA. The Open Source AI Strategy Forum workshop brought together global thought leaders, researchers, and open-source AI pioneers to discuss the pressing challenges and opportunities in the open-source AI landscape.
The forum explored key themes shaping the future of open-source AI.
- Global Digital Collaboration: How open-source AI bridges divides and accelerates innovation globally. Highlighting best practices, successful initiatives, and overcoming barriers.
- Open-Source AI: Enabling Sovereignty and Digital Autonomy: Balancing global collaboration with national digital autonomy through policies, frameworks, and technologies.
- Open-Source AI and Research: The synergy between open-source communities and academic research, including successful partnerships and knowledge sharing.
- Open-Source AI Solutions: Leveraging open-source AI for business innovation, efficiency, and competitive advantage, with real-world examples and adoption strategies.
- Responsible AI: Community-driven approaches to ethical, transparent, and accountable AI, emphasising governance and unbiased solutions.
The topics discussed are aligned with the activities of the dAIEDGE to address the development and implementation of an edge AI research agenda aligned with other projects, partnerships, and initiatives.
