January has come to an end, and at dAIEDGE, we are celebrating a month filled with activities and achievements, alongside the launch of our second Open Call. This milestone reaffirms our commitment to driving AI innovation across Europe.
- Launch of Our Second Open Call
Following the outstanding success of our first call—which attracted 146 applications from researchers around the world and resulted in 36 full proposals from 21 countries—we’ve kicked off the new year with our second call, featuring 20 industrial challenges.
With total funding of up to €60,000 per project and a duration of up to 7 months, participants will progress through two key stages:
- A one-month planning phase (with funding of up to €9,000), and
- A six-month implementation phase (with funding of up to €51,000).
Throughout both phases, selected participants will benefit from expert guidance provided by dAIEDGE technical specialists to develop and showcase their solutions.
- dAIEDGE-VLab
This January, we also launched the dAIEDGE-VLab, a virtual environment designed to compare and evaluate the performance of AI models across a range of objectives. It offers users an intuitive interface to configure tests, visualise results, and compare models in different environments and scenarios.
All of this takes place within a secure framework, ensuring that data and models are managed with the highest level of protection.
During this initial phase, access will be limited to partners, relevant organisations, and researchers, including Open Call participants, as appropriate.
- Participation in HiPEAC 2025
We also participated in the HiPEAC 2025 Conference, one of Europe’s most prestigious platforms for technological debate and advancement. We organised and co-organised three workshops:
- Excellence in AI and Edge Computing
- Charting the Future
- Accelerated Machine Learning (AccML)
Attendees of any of these sessions will automatically be invited to join the dAIEDGE Network of Excellence and gain access to its valuable resources.
