During the recent European ADR Forum held in Stavanger, Norway an event that brought together international experts to discuss the future of artificial intelligence and its role in alternative dispute resolution; Alain Pagani, Director of the Augmented Vision Research Department at DFKI and coordinator of dAIEDGE, shared his vision on the strategic importance of Edge AI for Europe. In his presentation, he highlighted the need to unite the scientific and technological community by promoting excellence, collaboration and practical experimentation.
During his presentation, Alain introduced our Virtual Laboratory, an infrastructure that allows researchers to remotely access physical devices. Through this laboratory, it is possible to upload models, run tests, receive reports and train in AI technologies at the edge, without relying on large data centres.
One of the central messages of his presentation was that AI at the edge not only improves data privacy and security, but also offers real scalability that large centralised data centres cannot provide. Europe has the opportunity to lead the future of AI if it commits to this approach, leveraging the power of edge devices to create a distributed and competitive infrastructure.
