Luc Van Gool and Danda Pani Paudel of INSAIT are leading a use case within the dAIEDGE project with the aim of bringing multitasking artificial intelligence to the Edge. Their approach combines various computer vision tasks - classification, detection, segmentation, and more - and optimises them for Edge devices, allowing multiple functions to be performed efficiently and with less memory consumption.
For Edge devices, where resources are limited, multi-task learning becomes an ideal solution. This approach is essential to do more with less, ensuring that Edge devices can handle multiple visual applications in real time, without compromising performance.
