Interview with Mohamed Selim: Keys to the dAIEDGE Project and the Future of AI at the Edge

In this interview with Mohamed Selim, dAIEDGE Project Manager and researcher at the Deutsches Forschungszentrum für Künstliche Intelligenz (DFKI), he shared his insights on the exciting developments of the dAIEDGE project, the challenges they face and the crucial role of collaboration in networks of excellence.

When asked about his role as Project Manager at dAIEDGE, Mohamed underlined the breadth of his responsibilities within the consortium: ‘We are involved in many activities and various work packages within the consortium and also outside the consortium, collaborating with other networks of excellence,’ he said. 

  • Activity Highlights: AI Lighthouse and Strategic Collaborations

Mohamed Selim also talked about some of the activities he has been working on, in particular the European AI Lighthouse, a key initiative within the consortium. ‘We are working on work package number one, on the AI Lighthouse. We have already organised some events with members of the consortium and also with other networks of excellence,’ he said.

Mohamed concluded the interview by anticipating more events and collaborations in the near future: ‘We are looking forward to organising even more activities, focusing of course on AI at the Edge. Future events will be instrumental in promoting innovative solutions and ensuring that Europe remains a leader in this technological field.
