This week, the 36 partners of dAIEDGE gathered at Sorbonne University in Paris, France, to review the progress made in each of the work packages since our last meeting in Heraklion, Crete, in September. In an environment of collaboration and innovation, we continue to strengthen our mission to position the European Union at the forefront of the data economy and its applications.
One of the most significant milestones during the work package meeting was the development of dAIEDGE-VLab, a virtual environment designed to compare and assess the performance of AI models for various objectives. This platform offers an intuitive interface for configuring tests, visualising results, and comparing models across different environments, all while ensuring maximum data and model protection. (In this initial phase, access will be restricted to partners, relevant organisations, and researchers participating in the open call.)
Another key achievement has been the success of the Second Open Call, which have generated substantial interest, with 529 applications started and 236 successfully submitted. Representatives from 33 countries took part, with Greece, Spain, and Italy leading in engagement. Additionally, 21 applications were submitted by consortia formed by two entities, further strengthening research collaboration and the development of innovative solutions.
Our meeting in Paris also served to reinforce our team relationships through various networking sessions, encouraging the exchange of ideas and the exploration of new synergies. Collaboration and innovation remain the fundamental pillars of dAIEDGE, and with each meeting, we move closer to our goal of establishing the European Union as a global leader in the data economy and its applications.
We would like to extend our gratitude once again to Sorbonne University for hosting this year’s meeting.
